With a 2007 population 790,000, Nantes is the sixth largest city in France and is the largest city in the region of Brittany. Nantes is situated close Atlantic Ocean at the confluence of the Loire, and Erdre Sevre-Rivières. Equally impressive is the Gothic cathedral Sts Peter and Paul and the Basilica of St. Louis. There are also many important museums including the Museum of History Nantes, located in Château des Ducs de Bretagne. Also of interest is the Musée des Beaux Arts de Nantes, with the Museum of Natural History. Jules Verne's beloved Son own museum, aptly named, you guessed it, the Jules Verne Museum.

Another great place to go is the passage Pommeraye, a beautiful and elaborate three-story commercial Galleria Built in the 1840s. Place Royale is a historic square in the heart of the city that was recently renovated. From there, walk the streets and Crébillon Orleans for a sample of luxury shops of Nantes. Another interesting visit is the Jardin des Plantes (botanical garden) in a wonderful example of an old city park in France. And if that were not enough, to offer one of the bars of the finest restaurants throughout France, Brasserie La Cigale.
